International Dart Federation becomes member of the International Council of Coaching Excellence!
The International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) is a not-for-profit, international organisation with the mission of leading and supporting the development of sport coaching globally. The ICCE has established a central Global Coaching Office at Leeds Beckett University in 2011 which is now the hub of its global and European activities.
The ICCE is a not-for-profit, global organization with the mission of leading and developing sport coaching globally. ICCE members seek to enhance the quality of coaching at every level of sport. Every day around the world, tens of millions of athletes run, jump, throw, catch, swim, play and participate in other sport activities. Every day around the world, millions of coaches help those athletes chase their dreams. The ICCE believes that international collaboration and exchange can accelerate positive change in the realm of coaching development and help these coaches give athletes around the world a chance to pursue excellence.
The International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) was established on 24th September 1997 by delegates representing 15 countries, during the second International Coach Education Summit held at Wingate Institute, Netanya, Israel. The idea of creating an international body to represent coaches and coaching was discussed by Uri Schaefer from Israel, Jurgen Kotzel from Germany and Sue Campbell from UK at the 1994 meeting marking the 20th anniversary of the Trainerakademie in Cologne, Germany. It was agreed to hold an inaugural summit of coach education leaders in Leeds, UK in July 1995, organized by the National Coaching Foundation, and the participants established the initial guidelines and aims for this new organisation. The ICCE has since grown to be present in over 50 countries.

With this step IDF is starting the process to apply the INTERNATIONAL SPORT COACHING FRAMEWORK (ISCF): created in conjunction with the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), and Leeds Beckett University (LBU), the ISCF represents a significant step toward understanding and establishing consensus on key coach education, development and employment areas. It is intended to serve as a common reference point for establishing a common language and set of principles about coaching and coach education that can be adapted and applied across all nations and sporting contexts.
